Black Lives Matter – A Statement + Commitment from Tidal Marketing

Black lives matter. We believe these words, because these words are true. While we have not said anything for a while, we have been having difficult conversations, we have been listening, and we have been peacefully protesting with you. We stand alongside you. As a small business founded by a first-generation Latinx Person of Color, a drive for equality of all of our BIPOC and marginalized friends, family, partners, and community members is engrained in who we are. We have been cautious to not make this movement about us. It is not about us. We did not want to make a social media post in solidarity and leave it at that; as some virtual show of virtue but nothing more. We want to do something more. Since the beginning, we have always believed in the motto of "Community Over Competition," and it continues to drive us in this moment. We love our community, yet so much of our community is hurting. The voices of our Black sisters, brothers, and non-binary and gender nonconforming siblings need to be heard. Systemic racism is real and real changes need to be made. Here is what we as a business can do to help:

1. We are offering free social media and digital marketing consultations to Black-owned small businesses through the end of July. No strings attached. No need to sign a larger contract. Just email us at hello@tidal.marketing to schedule. We are in the business of telling unique stories. We would love to work alongside you to help you tell yours. Your voice needs to be heard.

2. We will be donating 20% of any and all business earnings from new or current clients through the end of July to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund. Our friends at Mangione Studios have also committed to join us in donating in this manner if your business needs photo or video content.

We are also welcoming and listening to your suggestions on how we can continue to regularly support all marginalized members of our community. You matter and we love you.

UPDATE: As of August 11, 2020, we have donated $405.75 to the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund.
